Privacy Policy

GameDay helps friend groups organise their regular games: who's in, teams, attendance and splitting the turf cost. This policy explains what we collect to do that, why, and the choices you have. It covers the website at https://itsgameday.vercel.app and the GameDay apps for Android and iOS.

What we collect

• Account details from the sign-in provider you choose (Google or Apple): your name, email address and profile photo. You can change the name shown to your groups at any time.
• Profile details you add: your UPI ID (so others can pay you when you collect for a session) and your preferred playing position.
• Activity in your groups: groups you create or join, sessions, your votes (including names of guests you bring), teams, attendance, payment records (amounts and whether they're marked paid), suggestions and turfs you add.
• Device information: a push-notification token for each device you use the app on, and basic crash reports.
• Usage analytics: which features are used (for example “session created”), linked to your account so we can understand how the app is used. We don't use it for advertising.

We don't collect your location, contacts, or bank details. Payments happen in your own UPI app; GameDay only opens it with the amount filled in and never sees or processes the payment.

How we use it

• To run the service: show your groups and sessions, form teams, track attendance and who has paid.
• To send notifications you can control (new games, teams, waitlist, payments, reminders).
• To keep the service secure, fix problems and improve features.

Who can see your information

Members of a group can see the group's sessions and the names, photos, votes, positions, attendance and payment status of other members. Your UPI ID is shown to people who owe you money for a session you collect for. We never sell your data.

We use these service providers to run GameDay, who process data only on our behalf:

• Google Firebase: sign-in, push notifications and crash reporting
• Supabase: database hosting
• Vercel: website and API hosting
• PostHog: product analytics
• Apple: sign-in with Apple and push notifications on iOS

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account we remove your personal details (name, photo, email link, UPI ID, position, devices) and remove you from your groups and from upcoming games. Past game records (attendance, teams and payments) stay in your groups' history under “Deleted player” so other members' records still add up.

Your choices

• Edit your name, UPI ID and position in your profile.
• Turn notifications on or off in the app or your phone's settings.
• Delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account), or see how to request deletion.
• Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it by emailing akshayashok2024@gmail.com.

Children

GameDay is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access is limited to the members of each group and to the service providers above.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
